    “Freshly Picked Vana’diel 10” Digest

    Greetings,

    To coincide with the August version update, Producer Akihiko Matsui held another "Freshly Picked Vana'diel" to go over some of the new content and discuss other topics pertinent to adventuring. Below is a digest of what was discussed.

    Seekers of Adoulin Missions

    Alluvion Skirmishes Part 1

    Alluvion skirmishes are content where the map layout and monster placement varies each time you challenge it. However, it's not completely random, and depending on how you organize the five new types of simulacrum segments there are certain patterns, so it's possible to form strategies based on the segments you select.

    Additionally, depending on the type of simulacrum segment, special monsters will spawn that affect the entire skirmish. These special monsters will affect players by giving two types of positive and negative effects, and depending on your job you'll be able to gain an edge by using these special effects. We hope you have fun organizing parties to go along with the types of simulacrum segments you possess.

    Alluvion Skirmishes Part 2

    It's possible to engrave arcane glyptics on this equipment with an item that you receive as an individual reward through alluvion skirmishes, and with this you'll be able to augment your equipment with various stats and special properties.

    Depending on the type of enhancement item, there are different types of stats and special properties that can be added, and we've made it so it's easier to tailor your enhancements to your job.

    • Addition of new alter egos
      We added Klara, Romaa Mihgo, Excenmille [S], and Rainemard to the array of alter egos.

      Klara is an orthodox melee fighter alter ego that can also use a special weapon skill. Romaa Mihgo can use Trick Attack if you get her in the right position to help you keep hate on your target. Excenmille [S] is the child version of Excenmille from the Shadowreign Era. Please note that it's not possible to summon both Excenmilles at the same time.
    • Summoning alter egos
      It's now possible to summon alter egos after entering seal battlefields.
    • Addition of a "Trust" category to the action menu
      Since the amount of Trust spells have increased, we created a separate magic list.

    We added two new job point categories for each of the 22 jobs.

    In regards to blue mage's "Learning Chance" category, based on feedback that we have been receiving we will be revamping this category and the effect will be changed in the September version update.

    In the event you place job points into this category between now and the September version update, the same amount of job points will automatically carry over into the changed category in September.

    Equipment Set Feature

    We added a new feature known as "Equipment Sets" that allows you to simultaneously change all of your equipment at once.

    You can combine equipment just like you would via the normal equipment window and save up to 20 sets.

    We are planning to expand the number of sets that can be saved to 100 after the next version update.
