I'd also like to say that the (1) on equipped items in Wardrobe is:
A) Unintuitive. Why is it a 1?
B) Annoying. It clogs the icon just like this item number change.

There were posts that explained why it was necessary - some newly stackable items had names that were too long in the non-JP clients so there was no place to put the numbers to the right.

Please note I am not saying this change was IDEAL, clearly enough people are having legitimate problems with it, but I do get why they did it.

lol, it's a 1 because inventory is space 0 and wardrobe is space 1.

(I'd have coded it to be a "W" but whatever...)

This is why it's a 1. Personally I like that it has a way for us to know if it's from normal inventory or Wardrobe.

This new thing is seriously awful. Worst UI change ever. Why did they ever put it in? It used to be that I could just lean back and play, and the numbers on the right hand side told me what kind of inventory I have. Now if my face is more than a foot away from the monitor, I can barely see.

Me too. Have to lean forward to the screen to see the number. It really sucks. There is another post about this. Hopefully they will do something about it. It's the contrast of the background with the white number. The background needs to be darker.
