I suppose I'll be the one to tell you, since nobody else has. That's a third-party program issue you're having, and as for the fix, this isn't the appropriate place to come looking for it.
edit: or, put another way, nobody's going to answer that question because nobody wants to get banned for answering it.
It happens even to console fishers... they using 3rd party programs?
I read someone debugged the issue and it was something to do with the R.N.G cause a crash at 0?
I still get the issue, so im guessing not fixed
I went out and fished JUST before answering this post just to make sure it would work (it'd been awhile). I fished up my entire daily limit on black sole, so I don't know what to tell you. If it's a ps2 issue, the Japanese would've demanded blood and they'd have fixed that already. Is it a 360 or ps3/4 issue?
No it's not fixed, and no it's not a third party issue, but it does seem to be getting more infrequent.

This has absolutely nothing to do with 3rd party programs, I never used one , ever.
It seems to happen in town more than out in the world, it hadn't happened to me for a while , although I will admit i'm not a high level fisher only lv34 , still doing the Lu quest, sigh, but it happened to me a couple times yesterday while fishing in the mog garden for moats.
Better add, I only use PC.
