    Regarding New Magic Spells and Abilities

    Hello,

    I understand there are a lot of questions about whether or not we will be adding new abilities and magic to the game, and below is a comment from Akihiko Matsui regarding this topic.

    That’s correct that previously we were in a situation where it was difficult to add new abilities as we had reached the limit for recast timer slots.     With the current growth system, will more abilities and magic be added?
    Magic-wise we will be adding new blue magic spells during the November version update. Additionally, though I cannot promise you a specific time frame and this is something we are planning for the future, instead of simply adding higher-tier versions of existing magic spells since our magic slots are limited, we’d like to introduce different kinds of magic to enable new play styles.

    So, when can we expect Atomos, Cait Sith, and the new SP job abilities for all jobs?

    I'd also be interested in hearing about Atomos and Cait Sith, seeing as how they've been neglected for YEARS now...

    Dark magic needs an overhaul. Aspir should work on everything but undead. Absorb spells need to be more debilitating. BLM needs more dark magic spells than SCH. Enfeebling magic is almost there but still doesn't do enough. RDM needs access to mdef/matk down spell. Elemental damage over time spells needs updated sorely. Ancient magic needs updating or new, unique spells need to be added.

    The reason why you can't aspir all mobs is simple. Each mob type has a set job class. For example, Beetles and Crabs are typically Paladin class, and Hecteyes are Black Mages. Both of these jobs have MP that they can use to cast spells, therefore they can be aspired. Bees are Wardior class and Ladybugs are Thief class and do not have a natural MP pool. Therefore they can not be aspired.

    Please make sure these new blu spells aren't a bunch of lame unbridled learning spells! A low delay aspir would be nice, or an absorb tp spell, please also give us more blu spell points to accommodate these spells, as well as blu spell equip slots!
