    Scholar's Merit Point ability "Enlightenment"

    ISP: Verizon FiOS
Type of Internet Connection: Wireless Cable
    Internet Connection Speed: 1m
    Date & Time: 7/16 10PM EST
    Frequency: 100%
    Character Name: Ophannus
    Race: Hume
    World: Odin
    Class/Skill Rank: Scholar/Black Mage
    Area and Coordinates: Any
    Party or Solo: Solo
    NPC Name: N/A
    Monster Name: N/A
    In-Game Time: N/A
    Steps:
    1. The description for Enlightment reads: "Optimizes both white and black magic capabilities and allows access to both addenda for your next spell."
    2. The part that says "Optimizes both white and black magic capabilities" seems defunct.
    3. Activate Dark Arts.
    4. Activate Enlightenement.
    5. Cast Reraise III(costs 180MP while in Dark Arts; 150MP without any Arts; 135MP with Light Arts)
    6. Notice that Reraise III, despite being cast while under "Enlightenment" still consumes 180 MP. Not only this, but the casting time is still as if Dark Arts is in effect.

It seems like all Enlightenment does is allow access to both Addenda for the next cast. It currently does not optimize White and Black Magic for your next spell like how Tabula Rasa does. Enlightenment should reduce the cost, casting time and recasting speed of your next spell regardless of which Arts you are in as the description says.

Also note: Light Arts gives a bonus to Regen and Dark Arts gives a bonus to Helix spells. If you are in Dark Arts and you use Enlightenment, Regen spells will not receive the associated bonus. Under Light Arts if you use Enlightenment, Helix spells do not receive the bonus.

Please fix Enlightenment so that it optimizes both black and white magic for the next spell similar as the description says.

I recall this being brought up before and I'd have to agree, Optimization is don't very optimal at what it's supposed to do.

    Hello,

Thank you for sharing your concerns about enlightenment. Unfortunately, as this is not a bug in the strictest sense, this would be better addressed through the Feedback section of the site.

    Thank you,
