Let me be sentimental about it for a moment.
A Galka just beating the crap out of everything with his fists. Who wouldn't want that?

monk was my first nananana
Yep. Finally got the darn thing to 90 a few days ago, after letting it rot for a while vs. other jobs...
Still my main job, even if i'm taken hostage as BLM every time i have to do abyssea or dynamis
That is not dead which can eternal lie
First job I started, first job to 75, then first to 90. Ah the memories... damn thing has so much gear my mog sack isn't big enough for it T_T
Monk is a damn great job now in abyssea. Always was an awesome job. Throw down that brown and pack the Black!(belt)
Easy for you to say... when you're left high-and-dry to solo every piece of your black belt it only becomes an infuriating and depressing chore. Especially now that everyone and their mothers are leveling it just for the sake of abyssea, their linkshells go and control the NM's in full-force just to give everyone, even those without monk job, a black belt for giggles...
Monk has always been my main. I remember the days of "lolmnk" because we didn't do big burst damage from weaponskills and didn't look as cool as DRKs.
Monk was my first job and has always been my main. I didn't get much of a chance to use it through 4 years of endgame and was more useful on my other jobs (BLM, PLD, SAM, BRD) but it was still my main job and I used it whenever I could. It was great to come back after not playing for a while, to see MNK was finally useful again
