There would be no point in wearing other TH+ gear unless it totaled more than TH+5. See how that works? And in the throwing slot instead of the dagger slot no less. A weapon that doesn't completely screw a job that is already completely screwed.
I have one issue with this and that is if new TH gear arises, this piece then becomes moot and we have to wear the whole set again. The only way to upgrade the THF knife is to change the knife itself or a new knife with a latent trigger being the old unequipped.

Samurai Archery is said to be a thing of the past, but it isn't dead yet!

Why wouldn't they just make the next piece exactly the same but with higher TH? Just to negate the usefulness of the previous piece? Why not just make the next piece another ranged item with a higher TH stat that also doesn't stack with the knife etc?

No it isn't. They can put treasure hunter on any piece of equipment they want or even remove it from equipment completely. If they put it on a new dagger, we will be back here begging them to get rid of it again as soon as they do because it will inevitably suck and it will inevitably get worse in comparison with every new dagger that comes out after it.

Best to put the crap stat in a crap item slot, or no item slot at all. This whole idea of making a gimp job equip gimp items to further gimp them for the sake of a gimp stat that doesn't even have an effect on any of the recent content is getting really old. The people who came up with this stuff should be ashamed of themselves and so should anyone who promotes it.
