Not with a mindset such as this it wouldn't >< lol Creativity on the subject would create new and innovative spells that would absolutely set this Job apart from every other. Just because they had a list of spells based on a previous FF game doesn't mean you should close your mind to creating new and fresh new ones that "could" work within FFXI's system. "Free your Mind"!

Naughty! you need to understand why i say it. ff5 is my fave ff on the snes. so i know what time mage could do. fast cast, time magic and mostly enfeebles are all covered by other jobs thus making the term "time mage" not really count unless you plan on making a job that screwss with party recasts

^^ yeah but you're basing their skills/spells on that game alone. FF games have refitted many jobs based on the realities they need to live in, so this job would be no different should it come to FFXI. I'm blown away that so many folks are over looking the incredible possibilities of a mage that can distort/control "Physical Space"! Do you understand how many awesome things one could do with that ability lol?! Maybe I've read too many comic books over the years or seen too much anime, but characters that have these kinds of powers are close to gods lol. That's what I meant by just being "creative" on the subject. These mages could enhance/enfeeble like nothing we've ever seen controlling physical space alone . I had to look up the spell list they commanded in FF5 to get an overview of what they could do, but even that list was the tip of the ice burg in terms of what kind of damage they could cause with physical space control.

    Demi
Stop (combo of bind and paralyze)
    Float
    Mute (Silencega)
    Xfer
Lock (Lowers enemies Evasion, and only that)
Rub (sorta like death except it rubs out their existance)
    Fear
    Mini
    Frog
    Berserk
Barrier (reduces damage from special attacks: weapon skills/tp moves only)
    Fog/Amnesia
    Valor and Bravery
Sap (Like Poison but for MP)
    Scathe/Scourge (non-elemental AoE)
    Ruin/Comet
Disable (Like paralyze but no chance of doing anything)
    Reflect
    Vanish
    Bleed
    Old

There's a lot of spells they could use that aren't in the game yet.

Why'd I bother when you aren't even going to take it seriously?

Edit: Correction: Why'd YOU bother asking when you aren't even going to take it seriously?

O.o; i am taking it seriously... just felt the need to add some humor to it.

Edit: I did the ones i felt were valid got serious reponses. the ones that were just rehashes were treated as such.
