It has come to our attention that some customers are experiencing issues with starting FINAL FANTASY XI and/or contacting our GM team following a Steam update on February 14, 2013.

We are currently working on identifying the cause of these issues and will release further information once it becomes available.

In the meantime, if you have trouble launching FINAL FANTASY XI or contacting our GM team in-game, the following steps should resolve the issue:

1. Open your Windows Explorer and go to your Steam folder (default: c:\program files(x86)\steam\steamapps\common\FFXI\SquareEnix)
2. Delete the folder ‘PlayOnlineViewer’
3. Open Steam and go to ‘LIBRARY’
4. Right-click FINAL FANTASY XI and select ‘Properties’
5. Select ‘LOCAL FILES’ and use the option ‘VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE’

Steam should then automatically download an up-to-date version of the PlayOnline viewer that should resolve the mentioned issues.
If the issue should persist, please contact the Square Enix Support Centre directly here: https://support.eu.square-enix.com/c...hp?id=455&la=2
