    Cant find anyone

Hi I started this two days ago so complete n00b. But I'm on the cerb server and started in Windhurst.

Where shall I go to meet and party up with players? Please note I'm GMT time zone as I'm in the UK.

Well, I'm not on your server, but most people hang out in Jeuno, which is a city roughly in the middle of the three starter nations. The road there is kind of dangerous for a level 2 character, but it is possible to get there if you take care and know how the different enemies you encounter detect you.

Some enemies detect you by sound, some detect you by sight, and some detect you by both. Sight detection is in a cone in front of the enemy, sound detection is in a circle around the enemy, but he range is shorter than it is for sight.

There are also ways to make you invisible and/or completely silent, but these methods are not available to you at level 2, unless you want to buy some slightly expensive items for it. Considering you don't lose EXP from dying below level 30, you could just put on reraise, save your respawn point as often as you can, and just try your luck running there.

Keep in mind that the enemies you should fight for exp at your current level are mostly found outside of your starting nation, so you might not want to save your home point in Jeuno right away when you get there. You could however go there and see if you can find someone who would give you a linkshell. Linkshells are sort of the same as guilds, except you can have several switch between them as you like.

Thanks - that was helpful. Can you clarify what a linkshell does - can you buy them? Also - you lose EXP past 30 from dying!? How much?

A linkshell is basically like a guild. You have the guild owner and other 'officers' (sackholders) who both are able to generate a pearl for you. Once someone trades one to you, you can equip it through the menu on your top right.

Linkshells are pretty handy communication tools to gather together people for different quests / missions / end-game stuff / etc. Your best bet may be to find people recruiting through this and other forums. Reddit, Allakazam, FFXIAH - all are good starts.

No idea on the xp question. xD

    Good luck! <3

You lose either 10 or 8% of the amount required for your next levelup, but it caps at 2400. You gain back 50% of the lost exp if you have Reraise 1, or someone casts raise 1 on you, 75% is regained from (re)raise 2, and something like 90% from 3.

The first few levels are going to be relatively quiet and soloish (and for many players brief, but you're new at this). Once you hit the teens, you can make the long run to Gusgen Mines- which is where most parties at lower levels generally start. That's good to around 30th- after that, Crawler's Nest.

Generally, I'd go 1-4 or so on whatever's right outside of town- you'll see a small floating book near the entrance back to the city that has options for "individual training". Pick one that uses the monsters close at hand and get cracking- it's a repeatable that will give you an exp bonus.

5-low tens, Starfall Hillock, right next to the dot marked "Outpost" in West Saruta. Ask the gate guards just inside the town gates (the same ones that give you Signet) for a "Supplies Quest" and run out there to complete it. There's a book there with more page quests to do, and the silk thread from crawlers/beehive chips from bees/yagudo necklaces from Yagudo all sell nicely at the Auction House in town (along with stacks of crystals). Long as you've done that supply quest, there's a Taru who buys and sells items who'll also teleport you home for a small fee- no running back required. He's also good for selling whatever vendor trash you end up picking up.

That'll put you just about at the point where you can go make that long exploration run out to Gusgen and start in on parties. Windurstians have the longest trek out there, but hey- just be careful about aggro and you should make it fine. Alternatively, you can solo further- you can easily get into the mid 20's, though you'll be picking on easy prey monsters for most of that and letting page quests pick up most of your exp to do it. That makes the trip safer, especially if you have Sneak/Invisible handy to cast to stealth along.
