Character/NPC Display Issue,

I've loaded FF XI on my laptop and when the game completes the login process, all the world loads perfectly but loads no character models.

OS: Windows 8
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M
Internet: Comcast Cable

Any ideas why this is happening. Thanks for the help in advance.

I have a brand new Pavillion G6 with a Radeon graphics card, AND a brand new Dell PC with onboard Intel graphics doing the exact same thing. I have searched over and over and cannot find anything about it. ADMIN/Tech Support PLEASE HELP! This SHOULD NOT be an issues on a brand new systems. I suspect that it's a compatibility issue between Win8 and the new graphics cards. PLEASE HELP!

So my issue was that my computer had my laptops integrated graphics card as the default for FF XI. As soon as I switched it to run through the NVIDIA card everything came up correctly. Just a heads up.

Good to hear that you got it going... I've set my laptop to switch over to the Radeon when ffxi starts up, still not loading characters >.<

I asked for e-mail support; hopefully they won't blame the user side like always. Problem happening on mine with a "Intel HD Graphics 3000"

So I just spoke to SE support and they're basically beating around the bush saying it "might" be issue with ports on the router. Doubt it but gonna try it; I think they just broke something with newest update, and they're covering their own a$$. lol I'll post wither or not it fixes the Character model rendering problem.

Opening up ports did nothing models still not rendering.

You you guys at SE fix this already? This is ridiculous; you're blaming Intel and Intel is blaming you. Why don't your companies work together to resolve this issue? I want to play the game... and I can't do that while every character, NPC and enemy model doesn't render. I've been playing since 2003 and this is really shaking my loyalty to SE and their products.

Please fix this. I just installed the game on a new PC as my old PC crashed and I cannot play. I also have been playing since 2004 and I am very disappointed at this point
