Xbox Question

I am giving a new Xbox to my friend who is coming back to ffxi, how much memory should I get? I know my old 20g was not enough years ago as I was forever bounced out of Besiege and Campaign...so what is needed now?

I play on pc now so no idea how much to get.

Pretty sure the old besieged and campaign issues were entirely unrelated to the amount of hard drive storage space on the consoles. As long as there is enough room to install the game, that's pretty much irrelevant.

I play fine on a very old 360 with 20gb HDD that i swear is the oldest HDD still in existence!! There's been a lot of fixes for content like besieged that stopped all the dc's etc and seems to have no issues at all, so you should be fine with any of the new versions.

hard drive size wouldn't effect your connection or stability at all. you either have enough room and can play the game, or you don't, and you can't.

that being said, i'm a fairly avid 360 gamer and my 80 gig HD is essentially full. so if you intend for this person to actually use this xbox a lot, 20 won't cut it.

Definitely upgrade the HDD, 40 minimum if your friend plans to do anything other than play FFXI. Though to be honest I find it strange that you would get an lolbox instead of just getting a cheap laptop, it can more or less do the same things as the box and has the added features of porn and leisurely internet browsing.

thank you all, just a quick note, by saying bounced out, what would happen in besiege and campaign is that I would freeze in the middle of battle and have to restart. He wants an xbox so that he shall have.

I personally prefer playing on xbox over my macbook (Windows partition). Xbox runs it smoothly and has the added bonus of being played on a 42" TV and the graphics aren't that terrible. Just a lot more comfortable playing on a console than I am a laptop

You have two xbox options the 4gb one which will not be enough for ffxi and the 250gb one. Your going to want to go with 250 unless you get him a used xbox or a discontinued xbox 360...
