    Resolving Pet Hate Issues

    Good evening!

There have been a number of reports where monsters will aggro pet owners once their pet disappears. After running a thorough investigation, we have determined that monster's hate would increase improperly towards pet owners. We have also confirmed that this issue occurs on all monsters and it is not restricted to any particular battle contents.

As a result of this issue, during battle, monsters will switch their target to the pet's owner, once the pet disappears.

This issue is scheduled to be addressed in the upcoming version update.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing.

This is a bug? I thought that's how it worked. The master gains hate by sic'ing the pet on the mob, so when the pet dies / despawns, the next hate target is the master.

It's really awesome to hear this is being fixed! This bug has been around for so long that I was beginning to worry it was a "feature".

It was happening even in group activities, particularly things that involved super-tanking.

But wait... Serious?! This is a bug? You mean, all those times that my pet died while getting the 20 min TE it wasn't supposed to come after me?!

And while you're at it, why don't you add "pet occasionally does 2.5X damage" to the guttler.

    No, You miss the point.

Assault, Bloodpacts, etc, All generate hate, What's happening is when a summoner releases his pet, Enemies he has not acted on in any way will kill him. This is apparent in any fights where Aggro is used to "Super Tank" (Meaning, one person mass gathers the enemies, or allows them to attack him without acting on them, So he can't lose hate if people cure him since the enmity is not there). - So in that light, Releasing a pet would give hate to the SMN, when in reality it should not.

    That's what they're fixing.

So they are making BST even more overpowered in Dyna...

Honestly pets do enough damage for BST already. BST is the easiest pet job to get a strong pet, has the most verity, and has more DPS than any other pet job except possibly a well geared PUP.

This is why alot of greedy, stupid, BSTs, rule Dyna, and I guess that isn't changing any time soon... -_-

Basically what he said then. If he sends his pet to kill a TE, said pet is killed 1st, the TE currently comes after the BST, and kills them. This change means that it will not come for the BST, instead it stops and goes away.

I don't believe that is the case, I'm pretty sure they're just fixing the problem where Releasing a pet generate hate on things you don't have enmity on. Assauling/Sic'ing a pet on something puts you on the hate list the second it hits the enemy, So you'll still have enmity on it, even if you never personally touch it, Your pet hitting it puts you on the enmity list, Very very low on it, But you're still on it.

I think this is primarily a fix to SMN getting aggro from Super-Tanked mobs when they release.

Then again, If it is how you say, which I would like to say i doubt, I think it'll be more of a nerf than a buff, Since If I'm sending a pet in to suicide, Its so he has the aggro and the Stone comes for me, aggro free, after The pet dies.
