Analog stick problem

So I just got everything installed and am playing the free trial. Frustrated with the unintuitive keyboard controls, I set up the game using the Config to use the Classic Controller from the Wii.

It works fine except for one rather large problem. When using the left analog stick to move, I can run in any diagonal direction, but if I try to move in one of the cardinal directions (north south west east) I can only walk. I've tested the controller in other games and it works fine. Can anyone help me with this problem?

EDIT: It seems that restarting the computer has fixed the problem.
