Personally I use an axe because scythe sucks, the only reasons I ever used them was as a toy or to ensure I didn't take hate from my pets back in the charm days. Honestly the only scythe I'd care for on BST is Apocalypse and that's because I already have it and the utility it provides would allow me to melee on a few NMs I currently let my pet do all the work on.

Shadow of Death? Really if you need to proc red why not bring people or come a job that actually has a decent amount of proc options?
Guillotine? Entropy...

That said, I don't see why BST didn't get put on the magian scythes they all suck when you compare them to axe combos so the argument of "balance" is nonexistent.
