    Greetings!

    We understand that after looking at the adjustment for Eagle Eye Shot the impact wasn’t too great and that there are quite a few requests for the development team to take another look. With that said I’d like to explain a little bit about the reasoning around this adjustment.

    Objective of the current adjustment
    To improve the usability more than currently and to create a groundwork.
     
    But why?
    As shown in the road map released yesterday, two-hour abilities will be enhanced via merit points. With this in sight, we decided it would not be a good idea to touch certain things right now.

    When it becomes possible to enhance two-hour abilities, we felt it more meaningful to make further adjustments if it is not as attractive at that time.

    Thanks for the information.

    Knowing that Eagle Eye Shot may be adjusted further gives me hope that all currently lackluster two-hour abilities will be reviewed during the development of two-hour merits. Adding a bunch of merits to abilities that have "disappointment" as their baseline wouldn't amount to much, and that's how I was imagining the addition of two-hour merits for many jobs.

    Of course, the end result will be weird and hilarious explanations about a lack of changes rather than changes to lackluster two-hour abilities, but the best comedy starts with horrible tragedy and I'll take whatever amusements I can get.

    The time that was spent expunging the scent of fermented corn and peas from various ties really cut into work on Final Fantasy XI.

    I hope these 2hr merit adjustments will be meritable before level 99, because EES and many other 2hrs have lost their appeal long before then, some are already worthless even at level 75.

    Hush, they need to come up with something you know, to make our money seems used on useful ideas. The whole roadmap is very promising ideas but knowing this team, the implementation would be half baked and lackluster. Gonna have to give them respect for trying though. Now if they can just adopt the fun, enjoyable, and accessible attitude toward the contents they created, then we are golden. 2 hours abilities need big massive update for sure. SE please take a look at Scholar's Embrava + Kaustra, you did marvelous with it, one of your BEST idea ever for 2 hours.

    add throw back and gravity to eagle eye shot, or give ranger a JA that does this, preferably making it low level, so it can be subbed for cor

    Called it yesterday :3

    I still like incorporating the idea of Dead Aim and 100% critical and sure hit on it. Sounds fitting for its name.

    As far as emnity, why not make stealth shot an effect that lasts :10 per merit level? That would pretty much solve the EES problem that noone cares about b/c we almost never use EES unless you happen to be doing campaign and you want to get the killshot on a campaign mob. (that, and very very few voidwatch fights where that last 2% was teetering on the win/fail seesaw).

    Why not make Eagle Eye Shot a useful 2hr for those desperate situations and give RNG :30 - 1:00 of "100% rapid shot activation" with "95% Ranged Accuracy" and "100% recycle", rather than basically a free weapon skill? It would be way more useable than the current, and would allow the RNG to swap equip to a full out Ranged attack and WS modifier gearset that would optimize damage output without having to worry about missing.

    *** just to add this in, if the dev team did the above, the 100% recycle would give RNG a reasonable chance to use special ammo, like rare/ex ammo that is normally not worth the time.
