    This explains why my attempts in early March to use direct pay through Global Payments Inc utterly failed and by the 5th of March my card was being hit with fraud charges, and why I am using FRICKING GAMING CARDS TO BE ABLE TO PLAY THIS GAME ANYMORE. And SE went this route for better customer security? Righto...

    If you were fooling around with SE payment methods back in early March you better get your card changed to a new one. I had to before I could use mine again and it may very well be a matter of time before your card starts getting hit.

    this may not have necessarliy been preventing you from verifying your card with the system. Most of the problems I saw were due to issues that were preventing browsers from connecting to the GP servers in the background during the verification process (sort of a cross-site scripting issue). Not so much an issue with the cards or the accounts themselves, but more an issue with the process being used by the websites involved not working with the browser options/security applications being used on the user's PC.

    How is this in any way SE's fault? Lots of companies work with these payment processors. SHIAT HAPPENS. No company is 100% impenetrable to security breaches.

    (Global Payments isn't some two-bit processing firm- they have billions in revenue each year.)

    General rule of the net is:

    Blame SE for everything. Even if it's not their fault, blame them. If you have no money on your card, blame them because they didn't deposit your check for you. If your dog dies, blame them for not taking him/her to the vet sooner.

    SE doesn't run nor own this company, so of course it's SE's fault.

    Yeah I was also a victim of fraudulent charges recently as well. Good to know why I was getting charged.
