New series of BLUE magics ~ "Gaze Attacks"(think Similar to breath series)

Well... As blue mages have "breath attacks"(conal areas of damage.... I'd love to see a new series of "eye gazes"(strong conal enfeebs).

This could include things like a peiste's grim glower(non stop petrify 30 sec), and hex eye(paralyze), mortal ray(doom gaze), etc.

The main characteristics of the new series of blue gazes would be NON-stop effects, short duration(20~30secs), modest mp cost(30-50), eye-conal areas, mod~strong effects. Also, much like a breath strength is based on a blue HP pool, perhaps a gaze attack could be based off a blue's MP pool?

Just for fun, SE could create a very powerful version of gaze attack, but the trade off is a blue Mage player becomes "frozen" while in the "gaze pose"?

Reduce or get rid of the penalty incurred after setting blue magic spells.
The concept is that you acquire blue magic spells via learning and then you can change battle strategies by picking and choosing spells within the blue magic spell points and set limitations. If you were able to change spells freely, the whole battle strategy aspect would be lost, so we have no plans to remove/reduce the penalty.

Point is you're a walking talking contradiction.

You cry game balance, say blue Mage is not red Mage then waste a whole new thread to copy and paste your idea for super enfeebles.

    You're not doing this well.

Well various "controls" could be implemented such as long recast timers for these "gazes". Also, the locking of a Bluemage could also be used. With incredibly short duration of 30sec can keep blue mages restrained.

I was talking the overall job design of bluemages. Their physical spells are the "Main" spells. Their nukes are moderate strength and offer multiple enfeebs(ex. Radiant breath-light damage, silence, blind). Their buffs using are very short duration and long casting timers and recast timers.

It is this and the fact that blue often can't buff other players, the SE doesn't give them increased buffing powers. Blue however DO have a wide and moderately strong range of enfeebling/damage spells already. "Gaze" moves DO exist and because of their "unique" natures I thought a blue series of such gaze, with NO damage but strong effects could be cool.

Breath, are similarly unique..being based on HP pool and having specific properties.

adding more gaze spells would be fine (though i dont like having to make sure the mob doesnt look away) but the constant gaze effect wouldn't work.

cool idea, but not reasonable. a spell mod of total mp is a good idea tho (already had a MDB mod)

the only way to even justify them is to make them Unbridled Learning only.
