    Sigh. Okay, I just went through all of this, and they informed me that if I wanted to unlink my JP SEID with my JP POL ID, I'd have to contact the Japanese support line. Unfortunately, I'm not fluent in Japanese, so that's a bust. Thanks anyway.

    Looks like no matter what, I'll be forced to keep paying exhorbitant amounts of money each month.

    Okay, okay, so I've been thinking of alternatives. I may not be able to easily unlink my PlayOnline ID from my Square-Enix ID, that's a fact. The thing is, what would happen if I just flat-out deleted my Japanese SEID? Would my PlayOnline ID be automatically unlinked from the now-defunct Japanese Square-Enix ID, or would my PlayOnline ID be deleted along with the Japanese SEID? I wouldn't imagine doing this before I knew what happened for fear of losing my Final Fantasy XI character, but the possibility is there, right?

    All this, because I wanted a mog satchel... m(_ _)m

    edit: Looking around, I'm not even sure it's possible to delete Square-Enix Accounts. Geez... that idea seems to have been exploded before it even got off the ground.

    edit2: Sigh, okay, after even more looking around, I've found that this wouldn't work. I'd still have to unlink them somehow, and if the SEID was deleted, I'd have to call the Japanese office to re-activate the SEID account anyway. This is all just going in circles!

    I've been doing a lot of searching and finally found Square-Enix's Japanese Support Center E-Mail after an hour of searching. I just sent them a request to unlink my ID, but if they refuse, I'll be forced to continue paying high fees each month. That's not even the worst case scenario- I feel kind of at risk by contacting them. Hopefully there are no more issues that spring up. All I want to do is pay a normal price each month instead of $18 for a single character. Depending on what they say, I'll likely give one more update.

    I don't mean to fill the thread up with a bunch of unrelated posts or anything, I just want to make sure that any others going through my situation could use this information for their own assistance.
