I've heard rumors that the status of the pulse martellos affect drop rates in the area, but why would anybody do Bastion beyond getting the points to buy pants is beyond me.

Actually, in my experience it's actually good exp if you have an alliance and the attacks happen to come one at a time. If there was less wait time it'd be great.
A whole alliance doing Resistance Ops can quickly strengthen the Martellos and NPCs so that they rape the waves of mobs that come in. And only 1 person has to do them; the other 17 just sign up.
