I would have much preferred that SquareEnix had dropped the "club" and "range" slot mentality. They should have simply made bells into weapons to be placed in the main hand with accompanying sound...
I'd prefer something alittle bit more thematic. Much like acquiring GEO, I'd rather go to a ??? and pop and appropriate NM elemental type to kill. Not for all the spells but some of them. The drop...

A/ Lupon behave somewhat like a "pet" that is follow you and commandable "stay/target". In abyseea not to much of a problem leading a bunch of mobs in field effect..but...
ADDITIONALLY, I don't want these spells as a lvl 97 ability. They should have longevity.. starting early and gaining in effect over the levels.
While Runefencer does eventually gain an "absorb" move at whatever level. It costs Rune andwhatnot (im only lvl 16 atm).
I'd love to improve the Runefencer spell ability to include an "absorb"...
What about sub job effects from Samurai or Dark Knight? Their 2handed abilities?
ENSPELLS have always been underwhelming in FFXI since Redmages. I'm not sure why SquareEnix restrains magic so much in this game especially for the NON-nuking jobs. DoT's, etc are underwhelming...

Maybe offer a different armor/gear set then a shared -perp cost, aimed specifically at elemental spirits. I can think of a set of torgques which boosts specific elemental spirits from casting...
