Test Server problems with Graphics and GamePad

How can I fix the graphics and use my gamepad in the test server. The graphic changes I made for ffxi and play online have not crossed over to the test server, and I do not see a config option for the test server to make these changes. Can someone help me with this?

I figured it out, however I wonder is there a way to modify the menu overlay..
