View Full Version : Mystery Boxes kupowers not effective in Grounds of Valor zones.

Currently, all kupowers are active due to the adventurer appreciation campaign, but they are having no effect on spawnrate of treasure caskets in (Grounds of Valor) dungeon zones.
On my way from the outpost in West Sarutabaruta to the Outer Horutoto Ruins Amaryllis Tower, I've killed a number of weak enemies and caskets would spawn on most mobs. However, once inside the ruins, chests spawn at an abysmal rate (usually 0-1 on every 25 mobs, with the occasional 2-3 and once in 300 mobs 4 spawned). This same phenomena has been reported by various other players from other servers in any new treasure casket zone, as well as members from my own linkshell.
Grounds of Valor can award a prowess that gives an increase in the spawnrate of these caskets, but over the course of 10 hours fighting, the random nature of the reward meant I got no upgrades of this prowess. I suspect that it's this prowess that prevents the kupowers from activating, even when no prowess or even a GoV training is active.

Party or Solo:Solo (RDM/BLM), solo (PUP/DNC), party (2;PUP/DNC and BLU/NIN)
NPC Name: None
Monster Name: Any killable mob in Amaryllis Tower and Dahlia Tower
Ensured Mystery Boxes kupowers are active for the current region, by defeating some low level enemies in West Sarutabaruta, and got the expected high spawnrate of caskets.
On RDM/BLM, I would pull 25~50 mobs of any kind in the area (goblins, bats, cardians, weapons) and then proceed to kill them using Sleepga and either aoe magic/Aeolian Edge dagger WS/stand in corner and melee every pulled mob to death. (Both mentioned towers)
On PUP/DNC, I would initially do Grounds of Valor trial page 7 and kill 5 Fetor Bats (one at a time), followed by a Fuligo slime to finish the trial. After I hit 40 prowess upgrades (only 1 being Treasure Casket Spawn Rate increase), I stopped doing trials and focussed on the too weak mobs closer to the entrance. I would deploy the automaton (Sharpshot) on one too weak mob, while attacking another with master.
Spawnrate of caskets in all cases was very very low, despite the relevant kupowers being active. Often none at all per clearing of the area (or trial), 1 or 2 when lucky, and only once got 4 caskets after a Stonega II using RDM/BLM.
